Meriam Webster defines activism as a doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue. Many people associate activism with achieving some sort of political goal through protests. I define activism in a similar way. To me activism, involves Action centered around Change. It usually requires Teamwork in order to Inspire others to demonstrate courage and Valiance to Illuminate Social/political issues in some sort of Movement.
Activism needs to be more than just actions against some political or social controversial topic in order to make a difference and make a change in our word. Activism requires passion. It requires individuals to act for a cause not just because they are following in the fellow man's footsteps. Rather because they are truly disturbed by the goings on and are inspired to not only put a stop too it but also to encourage others to stand up for what they believe is right and just and stand against the injustices and atrocities of the our world, of our community, affecting our peers, affecting our habitat.
